On Saturday, the Winter Storm Watch for our area was upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning, and by Saturday afternoon it was upgraded again to a Blizzard Warning.
The Blizzard Warning goes into effect on Sunday at 10am and lasts until Monday at 6pm. The National Weather Service is predicting 16 to 20 inches of snow, along with wind gusts up to 45mph.
If you have your garbage picked up on Monday, it will be picked up on Tuesday due to the storm.
Manville’s Office of Emergency Management declared a Snow Emergency, which goes into effect on Sunday at 12 noon.
What Does This Mean?
A snow emergency means that ALL vehicles on ALL roads throughout Manville must be removed from the roadway by 4pm Sunday. Failure to remove your vehicle from the road will result in a ticket being issued, and the vehicle being towed.
Where Can I Park?
The easiest way would be to ask a neighbor if you can park in their driveway. Residents can also park on their lawns if a driveway is not available. Otherwise, per Manville OEM:
"Residents are allowed to park in the following Lots in the Borough as well as their lawns.
1. VFW 2290 - 600 Washington Ave - Main Lot
2. Manville Library Lot
3. Manville Municipal Lot - Main Street between Rosalie Street and N. Orchard Street
4. Borough Hall Lower Municipal Lot - South 1st Ave
5. Brooks Blvd Lot between North 3rd Ave and North 4th Ave"
How Long Will Street Parking Be Banned?
Per Ordinance #2022-1286:
"This street parking prohibition shall remain in effect until the snow has ceased and until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic; or until such time as the Snow Emergency has been lifted."
