Just after 3pm on Tuesday, August 18th, a text message and automated phone call went out to NJ American Water customers in the Manville area. According to American Water's website:

"Our crews are making emergency repairs due to a main break beginning on Tuesday August 18th in Manville. You reside in the affected area and may experience discolored or cloudy water, low water pressure or no water."

The notification further goes on to state that repairs can take up to 6 hours, with the alert map showing an 8:15pm estimated time of repair.

If your service is affected, American Water recommends: "You may experience temporary changes in your water. For discoloration, run cold water at the lowest level of your house. For cloudy water, run water at the highest level of your house. The condition should clear after 3 to 5 minutes of running water."
