At the Borough Council meeting on Monday May 12th, several officers with the Manville Police Department were recognized for their outstanding service.
As we reported previously, Sergeant Nickolas Franzoso was promoted to Lieutenant. He was formally sworn in on May 12th with his family and fellow officers in attendance.
In addition to the promotion, several other officers were recognized for their service:
- Officer Louis Duran was recognized multiple times for his dedication and bravery, receiving awards for Educational Achievement, Military Achievement, and Meritorious Service.
- Officer Jeff Sumbana was honored for his heroic action in saving the life of an 18-month-old child during a critical incident.
- Other officers recognized included Officer Nicholas Grammar and Christopher Corsilli for Educational Achievement. Officer Jeff Sumbana was recognized for Meritorious Service.
Chief Jeremiah stated, "I'd like to congratulate and recognize those, and congratulate those recognized tonight for their accomplishments, hard work and dedication to our community. I'd like to thank the Mayor & Council, the prosecutor, and the community for your ongoing support."
We congratulate Lieutenant Franzoso and the other officers on their well-deserved recognition.
