The Manville Borough Council opened the 2026 governing year with its first regular meeting on Monday, January 12. The agenda included action on contracts for the professional appointments approved during the January 3rd Reorganization Meeting.

Before the formal business of the evening began, the Council approved Resolution #2026‑050, promoting Officer Robert Ancona to the rank of Police Sergeant.

Mayor Richard Onderko administered the oath of office to Sergeant Ancona, who was joined by his family and fellow officers for the ceremony.

Police Chief Craig Jeramiah offered brief remarks, lightheartedly noting that he had not expected to return to the Council chambers so soon. He explained that a recent retirement made the promotion necessary and highlighted Sergeant Ancona's experience, work ethic, and service to the department. Chief Jeramiah concluded by thanking the Mayor, Council, and residents for their continued support.

ManvilleToday extends its congratulations to Sergeant Ancona and appreciation for his dedication to the Manville community. We wish him continued success in his new role.
