A Resolution, #2025-130, was pulled from the agenda at Tuesday May 27th's Council Meeting. This Resolution was to adjust the compensation for Manville's Recreation Director Stephanie Cornelson.
The Resolution stated that Ms. Cornelson would serve as a part-time recreation director, not to exceed 28 hours per week, at the rate of $45 per hour.
Council President Ron Skirkanish made a motion to pull this Resolution from the agenda, citing that he wants it taken back to committee review, plus they want to pass the Borough's budget first, and then work on department head raises, and pass all the raises at the same time.
Mayor Richard Onderko stated he was not in favor of Council President Skirkanish's motion.
The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Dayna Camacho. It passed 3 to 1, with Councilman Joseph Lukac voting no. Councilman Joseph DeVito and Councilwoman Jade Puia were absent from Tuesday's meeting.
Mayor Onderko commented after the Resolution was pulled: "Unfortunately it goes back to committee, and hopefully we can get this passed on June 9th. There's plenty of money in our budget to accommodate what our director is looking for. It's unfortunate this wasn't passed this evening."
Councilwoman Camacho also commented: "There are other people that are due raises, and there are other people that are.. to get raises. So, it's, I don't think it's fair to single one person out, I think that everybody should be getting raises that they are due at the same time."
