During the council meeting on Monday, November 10th, regular business took a pause so the mayor and council could honor Mr. John Gluch and Mr. Gerad Pienta.
Surrounded by family and friends, Council President Skirkanish read the proclamation into the record. Mr. Gluch and Mr. Pienta recognized for going above and beyond in their service to Manville. The proclamation read in part -
As owners of the Conoco service station on South Main Street in Manville, they provided many years of reliable, professional service to the residents and visitors of our Borough. Theirs was one of the longest-running businesses in town and stood as a trusted local landmark and symbol of small business excellence in our community.
As local small business owners, Mr. Gluch and Mr. Pienta have been pillars of the Manville community -- not only offering essential services but doing so with integrity, kindness, and a deep commitment to those they served. Beyond their business contributions, both Mr. Gluch and Mr. Pienta have demonstrated an extraordinary sense of civic duty through their longstanding service with the Manville Fire Department, each dedicating decades of their lives to protecting and serving their fellow citizens in times of greatest need.
Their dual roles as business owners and first responders exemplify the very best of Manville. The Borough of Manville extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Gluch and Mr. Pienta on their well-deserved retirement, with deep appreciation for the lasting legacy they leave behind — one built on service, community, and decades of hard work.
ManvilleToday also sends their congratulations and best wishes for a well deserved retirement.
