On the agenda for Monday June 8th's Council Meeting, there was a presentation with Resolution# 2026-133, which was titled "Appoint Deputy Municipal Clerk". Ashley Gabel was to be appointed as Deputy Municipal Clerk, effective June 9th.

The vote by Council on the hiring was unanimous, and Ms. Gabel took the Oath immediately after passage.

According to the "Memorandum of Employment" which was attached to the agenda, Ms. Gabel would be hired full-time with a starting salary of $70,000, pro-rated to the date of hire.

Ms. Gabel will start working in the Borough on July 6th. She does not yet possess her RMC (Registered Municipal Clerk) and CMR (Certified Municipal Registrar) licenses. According to the agreement, once she receives her certifications, her yearly salary will increase by $5,000 for the RMC license, and $1,000 for the CMR license.

She will be able to participate in the health insurance program offered by the Borough, pension system, as well as receive 3 weeks of vacation time.

If the Borough of Manville helps Ms. Gabel pay for any related coursework for her to obtain her credentials, the agreement states that if she were to resign or otherwise vacate her employment within two years of completing the Borough reimbursed coursework, she will need to repay the Borough of Manville for the coursework.

This hiring comes after the May 26th Council Meeting where Council hired a part-time Administrative Assistant to work in the Administrative Offices.

It appears that Council has been working to fill vacant positions in the administrative office, and these hires should result in a positive experience for residents needing help at Borough Hall, as well as ensuring there is adequate staffing in place to conduct the day-to-day operations of the Borough.
