At the Borough Council meeting on Monday, June 22nd, several proclamations were presented recognizing outstanding achievements by Manville residents including newly promoted Eagle Scouts and two championship winning youth baseball teams, the Stallions and the Broncos.
Last month, ManvilleToday reported on the four Manville Scouts who earned the rank of Eagle Scout. You can find that story here.
Following the Eagle Scout recognition, Recreation Director Kim Monto was invited to the podium to celebrate the accomplishments of the Stallions and the Broncos, two teams whose hard work and dedication brought championship titles home to Manville.
The Stallions: A Three Time Championship Team

The Stallions began playing together in the spring of 2024 in the working division of the Ponies. Many of the players were already classmates and teammates on the football field making their transition to the baseball diamond seamless.
Their first season together was a triumph, earning the title of 2024 Spring Somerville Champions.
The following year, the team split as some players aged up into the Minors division while others remained in Rookie. Despite the changes, the Stallions' determination never wavered. They once again captured their division title, becoming the 2025 Spring Somerville Rookie Champions, their second championship.
In Spring 2026, the original Rookie team reunited in the Minors division, forming what quickly became a powerhouse squad. Their communication, discipline, and tight knit chemistry were evident at every practice and every game.
The Stallions went undefeated in the regular season with a 12-0 record, then dominated the postseason to advance to the championship game. On Thursday, June 11th, in front of family, friends, and fellow Manville teams, the Stallions defeated the Somerville Giants 7-1, completing a perfect 15-0 season and securing their third title: the 2026 Spring Somerville Minor Championship.
The team and coaching staff, led by Head Coach Jeremy Bennett, were introduced and honored by the Council.
The Broncos: Champions Through Grit and Determination

The Broncos' championship journey began in the Minor Leagues as the Colts, when they won the 2024 Bridgewater Fall Championship. They followed that victory with another title the next year, winning the 2025 Bridgewater Fall Championship as the Broncos.
The Spring 2026 season brought new challenges. The Broncos finished the regular season with a 7-5 record but entered the playoffs with confidence and a commitment to teamwork.
Their first playoff game was a hard fought win against long time rivals Somerville, ending 10-8 in Manville's favor.
The championship game took place on Wednesday, June 10th, in South Bound Brook, a team the Broncos had not yet beaten this season. With determination, strong coaching, and the support of family and friends in the stands, the Broncos rose to the occasion. They defeated South Bound Brook 9-5, earning the title of 2026 Spring Somerville Major Champions and securing their third championship overall.
The Broncos were then introduced along with Head Coach Josh Parker.
With the Council chambers filled with proud families, coaches, and teammates, the evening served as a reminder of what makes Manville special - hard work, heart, and a community that shows up for its kids.
ManvilleToday congratulates all our Eagle Scouts, Stallions, and Broncos on their remarkable achievements.
